Claims Forms Completion Specialist

NOTE: This is a remote (at-home) local (i.e. Charleston, SC, and surrounding area) position. Candidates not living in (or relocating to) the Charleston, SC area will not be considered.

RecordQuest is seeking an intelligent, hardworking, and energetic person for our full-time Claims Forms Completion Specialist position. You are responsible for inputting private health information (PHI) into designated fields on various health-related forms for numerous facilities and/or providers. The Claims Forms Completion Specialist is detailed oriented and a meticulous proofreader. The ability to remain focused for extended periods of time and communicate clearly is vital to the success of this role.

Responsibilities

• Remotely access EHR systems to extract patient healthcare information from medical charts to complete a variety of claim forms. (LTD / STD Insurance Forms, FMLA Forms, Attorney SSI Forms)
• Input data into multiple formatted electronic forms for clients of varying sizes and specialties
• Complete a variety of claims forms including but not limited to Long-Term Disability (LTD) Forms, Short-Term Disability (STD) forms, FMLA forms, and Attorney SSI forms
• Understand new compliance policies or requirements
• May be asked to be cross-trained to understand, learn, and execute other health information data processing responsibilities
• Understand and utilize proprietary software

Requirements

• Background in the healthcare industry
• Extensive experience with medical records
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic codes
• Excellent computer and keyboarding skills
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to focus for extended periods
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to focus and detail-oriented
• Experience working with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Experience with one or more of the following preferred:
  1. HIPAA regulations and guidelines
  2. Release of Information process
  3. Insurance coding
  4. Medical records
  5. Physician practice operations

Starting Wage:  $16.00+/hour based on experience
